Çorum

Çorum is a city in the Çorum Province of northern Turkey. As of 2004, the population was 178,500. It is located at latitude of 40.56° North and a longitude of 34.96° East.

Historically, Çorum was associated with the famous Ertuğrul family. Their Karadeniz (Black Sea) dynasty dated back to the early 12th century and the family ruled in Çorum for seven centuries until the establishment of the Republic of Turkey in the early 20th century after which it was stripped of all its powers. The only surviving member of the family currently resides in London, UK.
