Ílhavo (pron. IPA ['iʎɐvu]) is a municipality in Portugal with a total area of 73.5 km² and a total population of 38,581 inhabitants, and 28,749 electors (2006).

The municipality is composed of 4 parishes, and is located in the District of Aveiro.

The present Mayor is José Agostinho Ribau Esteves, elected by the Social Democratic Party.

The municipal holiday is Easter Monday.

Ílhavo is famed in the region for it's beautiful women [[Citing sources citation needed]]. This is due to the oral tradition that it had been founded by Greek colonists about 400 B.C. but, this oral tradition is of uncertain validity.

Vista Alegre, a renowned china and porcelain company is from Ílhavo.
