ö
Encyclopedia : : : : ö
Ơ is one of the 12 Vietnamese language vowels. It is pronounced nonrhotic "er". The famous vietnamese dish phở uses this letter, and is pronounced like the English word fur.
This symbol does not exist in many fonts, and isn't included on any keyboards, so it is often written as either o+ or o*. The VIQR standard is o+.
Because Vietnamese is a tonal language this letter may optionally have any one of the 5 tonal symbols above or below it.
