.asia is a generic top-level domain proposed by the DotAsia Organization, with the back-end registry to be operated by Afilias. It has not been approved by ICANN. It would serve as a regional domain for companies, organizations, and individuals based in the region of Asia, Australia, and the Pacific.
The existent ccTLD of .as is reserved for American Samoa, although it admits foreign sites.
