.ro is the Internet country code top-level domain (ccTLD) for Romania. It is administered by the National Institute for R&D in Informatics. As of May 2004, 64,000 domains were registered under the .ro domain.

Attention: the website [http://www.nic.ro] does not refer to the official .ro Registry but to Internet Service Romania, S.A., a company who bought the domain names .co.ro, .ne.ro, .or.ro, .sa.ro & .srl.ro and who sells subdomains beneath these domain names.
