It is sometimes believed that there was a year 0 BC, but no such year exists in either the proleptic Gregorian calendar or Julian calendar. The year 1 of the anno Domini era is the traditionally accepted year of Jesus' birth (though this tradition is now believed incorrect, and Jesus is thought to have been born a few years earlier).
