10 Street Southwest (C-Train)
Encyclopedia : 1 : 10 : 10S : 10 Street Southwest (C-Train)
10 Street Southwest is the western terminus of Route 202 of the C-Train light rail system in Calgary, Alberta. This stop was the original terminus for Route 201 until the Northwest Line opened in 1987. Until the West Line to 69 Street Southwest opens in 2018, Route 202's western terminus is at this station. In addition, some Route 201 trains going southward start trips here.
Compared to other stations on the 7 Avenue Transit Mall, this station has its platform in the centre of the street, and is embedded between the tracks. Although there is a staircase leading to street level at the west end of the station, pedestrians heading east usually just hop off the platform opposite to where they exit the train (assuming another train is not parked on the opposite side of the station).
The station serves the West End community of downtown, both residential and businesses. A short walk from the station is the Calgary Science Centre, Mewata Armoury, Kerby Centre (a major seniors facility) and Shaw Millennium Park. Greyhound Canada provides a shuttle service from the station to its bus depot.
