Victorian Football League - Collingwood wins the 14th VFL Premiership (Collingwood 9.7 (61) d Carlton 6.11 (47))

New South Wales Rugby League goes into its third season. Newcastle Rebels who played in the New South Wales Rugby League premiership from 1908-1909, left the NSWRL when a local Newcastle competition was formed, replaced by Annandale.
