The 1920 Atlantic hurricane season officially began on June 1, 1920, and lasted until November 30, 1920. These dates conventionally delimit the period of each year when most tropical cyclones form in the Atlantic basin.

The 1920 season was a below average season with only four tropical cyclones forming in the Atlantic Basin. It had one of the shortest seasons of duration, with the activity occurring in a 23 day period. All of them were hurricanes but none reached major hurricane status (Category 3 or above). A Category 2 struck Central America and Cozumel, Mexico as a tropical storm and made landfall near Dulac, Louisiana, causing over $1 million in damage and one death. A Category 1 struck Cape Fear, North Carolina and a tropical storm struck Cedar Key, Florida. The strongest storm of the season was the first one to form. It was another Category 2 and a Cape Verde-type hurricane that formed in the eastern Atlantic; it stayed well out to sea while nearly reaching Category 3 status. Maximum winds were 95 kt (110 mph).
