1980 Republican National Convention

The 1980 National Convention of the Republican Party of the United States convened in Detroit, Michigan, in July 1980. At the convention, the party nominated Ronald W. Reagan of California for President of the United States and George H. W. Bush of Texas for Vice President. Reagan would eventually win the 1980 presidential election by a landslide victory.
