1 Street Southwest/Centre Street (C-Train)
Encyclopedia : 1 : 1S : 1ST : 1 Street Southwest/Centre Street (C-Train)
1 Street and Centre Street are stops in downtown Calgary on the city's C-Train light rail system. The 1 Street stop is used by westbound trains, and the Centre Street stop is used by eastbound trains. Platforms for the station are located on the sides of 7 Avenue South.
In October 2005, a new four-car platform for the 1 Street Southwest stop was finished. The platform moved to a new location between 1 Street and Centre Street, one block east of its old location. This move coincides with an ongoing project to rebuild all the platforms on 7 Avenue (including the 3 Street Southwest stop) to be able to handle four-car trains.
The Centre Street stop was relocated in May 2000, and was previously one block west of its current location.
The TELUS Convention Centre and the Glenbow Museum are located near these stations.
