1 May Indian state of Maharashtra will celebrate 100th anniversary of Statehood

July 1 to July 3 - 200th anniversary of the battle of Gettysburg.
November 22 - 100th anniversary of President John F. Kennedy being assassinated in Dallas,Texas. Also the centennial of the passing away of the Christian writer C. S. Lewis, and of Aldous Huxley.
100th anniversary of The Beatles' gaining fame, leading to what some view as their status as the greatest band of all time.
November 23 -The 100th anniversary of the television programme Doctor Who

April 9 - Will be the 200th anniversary of Gen. Robert E. Lee's Surrender to Ulysses S. Grant during the American Civil War
April 15 - 200th anniversary of President Abraham Lincoln's death.
May 13 - Will be the 200th anniversary of the last American Civil War battle
August 9 - Singapore celebrates 100 years of independence.

November 22 12:45 UTC- Venus will occult Jupiter. This event will be the first occultation of a planet by another since January 3, 1818. Unfortunately this event will be very difficult to observe, because the elongation of Venus and Jupiter from the sun on November 22, 2065 will be only 7 degrees.

The 100th Super Bowl game, or Super Bowl C, is scheduled for this year. It will probably be played in February.

July 1 Canada's bicentennial to celebrate confederation and the ratification of its constitution
July 15 11:56 UTC - Mercury will occult Neptune. Unfortunately, this rare event will be very difficult to observe.

April 4 The 100th anniversary of the assassination and death of civil rights leader, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
June 5 The centennial of the assassination of Senator, Former Attorney General and martyr, Robert F. Kennedy. He died on June 6th.

July 20 - 100th anniversary of the Apollo 11 Moon landing where Neil Armstrong and Edwin 'Buzz' Aldrin were the first humans to set foot on the Moon.

May 14, 2061. The Earth becomes entirely powered by solar energy, making consumption of fossil fuels unnecessary.

May the 21st, 2061. The Last Question is asked for the first time.
