23 January - Emperor Theodosius I proclaims his nine years old son Honorius Augustus.
Theodosius I outlaws the Olympic Games, ending a thousand years of festivals, as part of the general Christian policy begun by Constantine I (emperor) to slowly end both public and private religious freedom and establish universal Christian worship in accordiance with the doctrines set forth in the Nicene creed.
