  • Roman emperor Claudius removes Agrippa II from the tetrarchy of Chalcis.
  • Claudius secures a Senatorial decree which gives jurisdiction in financial cases to imperial procurators. This marked a significant strengthening of imperial powers at the expense of the Senate.
