5 Songs

Encyclopedia : 5 : 5S : 5SO : 5 Songs

5 Songs is an EP by The Decemberists released in 2001. Its name is a display of the band's peculiar sense of humour; as shown below, there are six songs on 5 Songs. The artwork was produced by Portland, OR artist Carson Ellis. The misleading title is due to the fact that the final track, "Apology Song" was written sometime during product production and sang into a friends, Stephen, answering machine as a legitimate apology for the legitimate loss of the beloved bicycle Madeline. Appearantly Colin liked it so much they threw it onto the album.

Track listing

  3. "My Mother Was A Chinese Trapeze Artist"
  4. "Angel, Won't You Call Me?"
