80 Hanson Place is a building located in the Fort Green section of Brooklyn. It is currently the location of the one of the Brooklyn Academy of Music expansion buildings. The building also contains the MoCADA (Museum of Contemporary African Diasporan Arts) and other BAM related projects and art spaces.
Pre-BAM
During the 1980's, 80 Hanson was used as a Bio-medical testing facility. It was a state facility for testing cocain abuse on rhesus monkeys. Its official title and address was the Testing and Research Laboratory, New York State Drug Abuse Control Commission, 80 Hanson Place, 11217 Brooklyn, New York, USA.
