A. G. Becker & Co., Inc. was an investment bank based in Chicago, Illinois.

Becker's history goes back to the 1880s when it was a commercial paper house. It evolved into a full line investment banking firm with offices in Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Boston, London and Geneva, among others.

Becker was a pioneer in the pension consulting business with the creation of "Green Book" tables comparing results to benchmarks, to help identify the performance of institutional investors.

To expand its capital base and to add an international dimension to its investment banking business, it took in two international partners, S.G. Warburg & Co., Ltd. (London) and Banque Paribas (Paris). In 1982 the French partner bought out the English partner and in 1984 Banque Paribas bought out the employee shareholders. In late 1984, A.G. Becker was sold to Merrill Lynch.
