AA Grapevine is the international monthly journal of Alcoholics Anonymous. Created by six New York members, its first issue was in June of 1944. Its articles are written by and for AA members, focusing on first-person stories. Its slogan, an AA "meeting in print," was adopted after supportive letters from overseas AA members in the armed forces.
In 1945, Alcoholics Anonymous adopted the Grapevine as its national journal. It became the international journal of AA in 1949, due to added readership in Canada and Europe.
