} AFunk was set up by Angharad Williams in 2003 with help from web designer Gerwyn Knight.

The two decided to create a website to showcase Angharad’s work as a music journalist. People began to visit the site and soon requests came from artists to be featured on the site and it became AFunk Magazine.

Originally, AFunk Magazine featured artists from across the globe but the site became inundated with requests for features. It was then that the AFunk team decided the magazine should become a focal point for information on UK talent. Artists featured include Rodney P, Ife, The Extremists, Mpho Skeef, Iceberg Slimm and Asher D.

AFunk Magazine has been nominated for an Urban Music Award, a BT Digital Music Award and a New Statesman New Media Award.
