AIM Mail is a Web-based e-mail from America Online.

History

AOL purchased MailBlocks on August 4, 2004, to add an application-like web interface to its AOL Mail service. This interface is also showcased in AIM Mail.

Features

AIM Mail has the following features available at no cost:

• 2 GB quota
• 16 MB attachments
• Spam protection
• Virus protection
• Spell checking
• Integration with AIM presence
• Message unsend capabilty (provided the message is sent to another AOL or AIM mailbox).

Advertising is displayed while working with the e-mail account. Users can also read and send mail using IMAP capable clients, such as Microsoft Outlook, Mozilla Thunderbird, and Apple Mail.
