AMC Airlines

AMC Airlines is a charter airline based in Cairo, Egypt. It operates charter flights from Europe to Egypt's tourist destinations, as well as tailored charters, domestic flights, VIP flights and long and short-term wet leases. Its main bases are Cairo International Airport (CAI), Hurghada Airport (HRG) and Sharm el Sheikh Airport (SSH).

History
The company was established in 1988 as a maintenance operation (Aircraft Maintenance Company - AMC) but acquired a passenger charter operations licence worldwide. Airline operations were started in 1994. AMC Airlines is wholly owned by Elsayed Saber (President of the company) and family.
Services
AMC Airlines operates charters flights from Aswan, Hurghada, Luxor and Sharm el Sheikh to various points in Europe and the Middle East (at May 2006).
Future Plans
The airline will be receiving a second B737-800 (SU-BPH) in July 2006. As with the first B737-800 (SU-BPG) the aircraft will be leased from GECAS. The airline's CEO has stated the airlines intention to order a further 5 B737-800s directly from Boeing with first delivery expected in December 2006 and the rest being delivered at 6 month intervals. The new Boeings will become the airline's sole aircraft type as it harmonises and expands its fleet.
With the expected liberalisation of the Egyptian civil aviation industry in 2007, AMC Airline, who are the second largest Egyptian carrier, plan to start scheduled services.
