AU Microscopii is a red dwarf star located 32 light-years from Earth. It was first observed by the Hubble Space Telescope and is noted for its large circumstellar disk of about 40 billion miles across. The star is roughly 12 million years old. Planets may currently be forming in the debris disk - or already exist.
