A Beautiful Mind is a biography of Bank of Sweden Prize winning economist and mathematician John Forbes Nash by Sylvia Nasar. In 2001 it was adapted for the screen.
The book is a detailed biography of Nash, including his work as a mathematician and his private life. The book won the 1998 National Book Critics Circle Award for Biography, a nomination for the Pulitzer Prize for biography, as well as making the New York Times bestseller list. It is particularly notable for the clarity, detail and accessibility of its treatment of Nash's mathematical accomplishments.
While a film of the same title was released based on the book, the book is much more true to Nash's life than the film.
