Summary
When Fred opens up an ancient sarcophagus that was anonymously sent to her, she is infected by a mysterious virus which makes her physically weak. Angel and Spike find and interrogate Eve in which they learn that Fred is infected by the spirit of Illyria, an ancient demon who existed before recorded time, and they must race to return her to an ancient demon burial ground in England before it kills Fred. But Drogyn, the gatekeeper of the crypt, ’Deeper Well” informs Angel and Spike that by freeing Fred from Illyira, an ‘Old One‘ force will lead the spirit to possess and infect thousands of other people. In the meanwhile, Gunn is working with Knox to find a way to cure Fred while Wesley tries comforting her by taking her back to his apartment.

- Texan twang score is heard during the opening scene, which is a flashback to Fred's past in Texas.
- Dylan Cash &/or Ray Brown - ""You Are My Sunshine"" Lorne and Fred sing some of the song.
