The Adler Mannheim ('Mannheim Eagles') are an ice hockey team hailing from Mannheim in the northern Baden-Württemberg region of Germany. Currently, the team plays at SAP Arena. Previously, the team played at Eisstadion am Friedrichspark.

History

The first incarnation of the Adler Mannheim were the The Mannheimer ice and roller skating club, created on May 19, 1938. After the conclusion of the Second World War, they again began operating in 1948.

Successes

The Adler Mannheim were champions of the German Bundesliga in 1980, 1997, 1998, 1999 and 2001, winners of the German Cup in 2002 and the Vice-Cup winner in 2006.

Mannheimer ERC WildCats (women)

The female contingent of the Mannheimer ERC carries the name "Wild Cats." The most successful period in the WildCats' career was between 1988 and 1994 during which they prevailed in three German championships and vice-championships. The Wildcats gave did not play during the 2005-2006 season after four players quit their contracts. They were forced, therefore, to temporarily withdraw from the league.
