Admiral Roebuck
Encyclopedia : A : AD : ADM : Admiral Roebuck
Admiral Roebuck is a fictional character in the James Bond film Tomorrow Never Dies. He is portrayed by actor Geoffrey Palmer.
Film Biography
In the pre-title sequence in the Bond film Tomorrow Never Dies, Admiral Roebuck is seen looking at a terrorist arms bazaar in the communications centre in England. James Bond is at the scene and M wants Bond to finish the job, but Admiral Roebuck, who is impatient, simply goes for a naval option and sends a missile to blow the place up. However he does not realize that there are nuclear missiles there, which will detonate with his attack. When they find this out he urgently calls the HMS Chester to destroy the missile. It can't and Bond is left to get the bombs out of there. When Bond recovers the bombs he tells the communication center (and most laugh at this remark):- Ask the Admiral, where he'd like his bombs delivered.
Character biography
It is unknown how long Admiral Roebuck has been Admiral or long he will be Admiral after Tomorrow Never Dies. However it is presumed that he became Admiral between the events of Moonraker and Goldeneye because Admiral Hargreaves is in The Spy Who Loved Me.
