Adobe GoLive

Encyclopedia : A : AD : ADO : Adobe GoLive

Adobe GoLive is an HTML editor from Adobe Systems. It replaced Adobe PageMill as Adobe's primary HTML editor[link]. The latest version has been given the "CS2" moniker, indicating its integration with the rest of the Adobe Creative Suite.

There is some speculation that GoLive will not be included in Adobe Creative Suite 3, scheduled for release in early 2007. In place of GoLive, it is possible that Adobe will bundle Macromedia Dreamweaver with its Creative Suite now that Adobe has acquired Macromedia. Developers have speculated that Adobe could make Dreamweaver's user interface appear and function more like other Adobe products for better integration with the existing suite.[link]

Adobe has not officially confirmed whether or not GoLive will be included in Creative Suite 3. It is quite possible that there will be several versions of the CS3 suite targeted at different audiences and that GoLive will be a part of at least one of the packages.

Adobe has officially stated that it "plans to continue to support GoLive and Freehand and develop these products based on our customers' needs."[link]
