Adpositional phrase

An adpositional phrase is a linguistic term for a phrase with an adposition - a preposition or a postposition - as head. Depending on the type of adposition used in the language, they can be prepositional or postpositional phrases. The term is used in syntax.
Prepositional phrases generally act as complements and adjuncts of noun phrases and verb phrases.
