Aerfer Leone

Encyclopedia : A : AE : AER : Aerfer Leone

The Aerfer Leone (Italian: lion) was a fighter designed in Italy in the late 1950s. It was a final attempt to develop the Aerfer Sagittario 2 into a workable aircraft.

Like other European fighter prototypes of the era, it was planned to use a rocket engine to provide additional thrust, just as its predecessor, the Ariete had used a secondary turbojet. However, the project was abandoned before a prototype could be built.
