After the Thin Man
Encyclopedia : A : AF : AFT : After the Thin Man
After the Thin Man was the 1936 sequel to the film The Thin Man. It starred William Powell and Myrna Loy as Nick and Nora Charles, and James Stewart. This time the murder victim and suspects are members of Nora's high-society family; at the end, Nora tells Nick something he hasn't detected yet: In this film, Nora Charles reveals that they're going to have a baby.
The solution in this film is perhaps the most surprising out of all the movies: the character played by James Stewart turns out to be the maniacal murderer.
The film was directed by W. S. Van Dyke and also starred Elissa Landi, Joseph Calleia, Jessie Ralph, Alan Marshall and Penny Singleton.
