Against The Grain is the name of a band whose members are in high school. Against The Grain was founded in 2005. The roots of this band however extend back to 2002 when they were in middle school.

Current members: Travis Earnshaw: Bass/Vocals (Co-Founder) Matt Hoffman: Lead Guitar (Co-Founder) Jessee Koehn: Drums (Co-Founder)

Former Members: Marty Kankey: Vocals (Spring '05) Stephanie Henderson: Keyboards (Fall '03-Spring '04)

Band History:

Fall 2002 - While in Jazz Band, friends Travis Earnshaw & Matt Hoffman decide to form a band. Many name ideas such as Emergency Exit, Barrol (Barral) Of Nothing, and the "unofficial" "Porta-poty" follow.

Spring 2003 - Jessee Koehn soon followed and the band made thier debut at the Middle School Talent Show playing an instrumental original song entitled: "Frail Moon". Introduced as "The Travis Earnshaw Band"

Summer 2003 - VACATION!!!!! Band becomes "Rabid"

Fall 2003 - Band resumes with Stephanie Henderson on Keyboards.

Spring 2004 - Matt and Stephanie leave over dispute of vocalist and direction. Travis changes band name to "The Dillusionals". Travis also begins to jam with Death By Munkees (Jessee's other band). (may) - Matt returns, Matt leaves, Travis joins Death By Munkees full time.

AGAINST THE GRAIN!
Spring 2005 - Travis, Matt, Jessee & Marty Kankey form Against the Grain. They play three shows for High School Variety Show (not including a dozen public rehearsals!)and play at Middle School Lallapalooza. (Matt & Travis also do a side show.)
Summer 2005 - Marty leaves band to serve in U.S. Navy.

September 2005 - Band returns with Travis now on vocals!

October 2005 - Band hosts a halloween concert at Matt's house. Death By Munkees also plays. During thier show closer, Jessee and Travis, pull a spur of the moment onstage switch and Travis plays drums for the last half of the song.

January 2006 - Filming begins for a proposed documentary on the band, the band lays down 2 tracks on an upcoming album.

Summer 2006 - Band's plans to record an album and play many, many gigs are shattered when Travis gets his leg broken by an angry jet-ski trailer.
