Agilolfings

The Agilolfings were a family of Frankish or Bavarian nobility that ruled the historical territory of Bavaria on behalf of their Frankish overlords from about 550 until 788. The first duke of their line mentioned in any documents, and probably the first, was Gariwald, or Garibald I.
