It is the largest high school in the Las Virgenes Unified School District, with an enrollment of approximately 2,400 students. In 2004, Agoura was ranked #900 in Newsweek's Poll of the Nation's 1000 best high schools.
Thousand Oaks Boulevard, a prominent backbone road that runs through several of the area's cities, terminates its western segment at Agoura High. A large hill behind (to the north of) the school supports a large stone "A", and is thus known as the "A Hill".
