Aguata is a zone in Anambra state in Nigeria with its headquarters in the city of Ekwulobia.
Aguata is home to some of Nigeria's greatest statesmen and academicians, like Dr. Alex Ekwueme (Vice President of Nigeria), Dr. Chukwuemeka Ezeife (Elder statesman and Governor). Aguata hosts the great Federal Polytechnic Oko.
Ekwulobia the largest city in Aguata is expanding rapidly to a population of about five-hundred thousand. Several new agro based factories established around Ekwulobia city have attracted workers into the city.
Aguata is also an exciting tourist and archeological place. Several exciting archeological and cultural discoveries have been made about the ancient Igbo kingdom around the town of Igboukwu in Aguata.
