Air-Stream Wireless Incorporated is a not-for-profit community organisation, the first in South Australia to successfully build a Wide Area Network (WAN) using class license radio communications and free open source software.

Air-Stream's aim is to deploy a low-cost community broadband infrastructure for sharing information resources such as websites, e-mail, audio, video, VoIP and other forms of IP communications.

Currently, Air-Stream's membership includes IT professionals, engineers, radio amateurs, community minded people, other community groups and enthusiasts, who are volunteering their time and resources to promote, educate and share information with each other to build the network.

Since its establishment in 2001, Air-Stream has pooled its skills and experience from members and other groups across Australia and internationally to develop systems that in terms of cost and flexibility are outside the scope of commercial organisations to deliver.

Anyone can join and become apart of this technological revolution which puts the power to deploy telecommunications back in the hands of our community.
