Air-Wave is the name of used by several superheroes in the DC Universe.

Air-Wave I

Law clerk Lawrence 'Larry' Jordan had recently graduated from law school and was an intern at the Brooklyn District Attorney office. Noticing the rise of crime, Jordan decided to become a costumed crimefighter using technology, using his interests in radio and electronics to create his equipment. His superhero activities were noticeable enough for President Franklin Roosevelt to request his participation in the All-Star Squadron.

Larry Jordan retired from his career as Air-Wave in 1948 and married Helen soon afterward. Their son, Harold (Hal), was born as Jordan continued his research into radio wave conversion.

Jordan was murdered in front of his wife and son by Joe Parsons, a criminal he had sent to prison as district attorney. (DC Comics Presents #40 [December 1981])

Larry Jordon is uncle to the much more well known "Hal" Jordan, Green Lantern II.

Air-Wave II

Helen Jordan donned her late husband's costume soon after he was murdered to bring his killer to justice. Once Parsons was apprehended, Helen never again wore the costume but kept it for her son Hal. When Hal entered high school, Helen slowly succumbing to mental illness, sent the boy to live with his cousins in Dallas.

Air-Wave III

Harold 'Hal' Jordan carries on his family's superhero legacy.
