Akita clan

The Akita clan was a Japanese clan of the Tsugaru district of Mutsu Province and claimed descent from Abe Sadato. The Akita clan mainly originated during the Sengoku Period of the 16th century. The Akita at first were the holders of the Akita Castle until being moved to Hitachi Castle through the decision of Tokugawa Ieyasu during the year of 1602.
