Akona Ndungane

Akona Zilindlovu Ndungane (born 20 February, 1981 in Umtata, South Africa) is a South African rugby union footballer. His usual position is in the centres. He plays for the Bulls in the international Super 14 competition as well as the Blue Bulls in the Currie Cup. He was recently included in the Springboks squad.
Ndungane played with the Border Bulldogs in the Currie Cup, before he was loaned out to the Blue Bulls for two seasons. He was then bought outright by the Blue Bulls after the two strong seasons. In 2004 he was included in the Springbok Sevens side to compete at the IRB series in Bordeaux and London. In 2005 he made his Super 12 debut for the Bulls against the Cats.
Ndungane made the Springboks' 2006 Tri Nations Series, on his selection, he said “I’m very excited. I have been waiting for this chance for a long time. At some stage, I thought it will never come. Being selected for the Springboks is every player’s dream,”[link]
