Al-Ali (Arabic: العلي) is an Arab tribe from Saudi Arabia. Most of whom migrated long ago (By the end of the 18th century) from what is now known as Saudi Arabia to different neighboring countries. Al-Ali family is the ruling family of the Emirate of Umm al-Qawain, which on 2 December 1971 joined the United Arab Emirates. Also many of them migrated to Kuwait, Qatar and Persia where they were also rulers of the tiny city of Charek and were dominant in the cities of Gerza, Ras Bustanah and Tawenah where Arabic still is the only understood language.
