Abu Abdullah Mohammad Ebn No'man known as Sheikh al-Mufid (~932-1006 CE) was an eminent Shiite scholar. He was born in Ukbara and later immigrated together with his father to Baghdad, where the shiite Buwayhids were ruling. He wrote about 200 books on different topics of Islam. He tried to unify shiite and Sunni branches of Islam and encouraged them to concentrate on the ground rules of Islam which are almost the same for both branches.
