Alahor in Granata

Alahor in Granata is an opera in two acts by Gaetano Donizetti to an Italian libretto after Jean Pierre Clares de Florian's text Gonzalve de Cordove, our Granade reconquise (1793). It premiered with critical and popular success at the Teatro Carolino, Palermo on January 7, 1826. The score was eventually lost, and then discovered in the late 1900s. The first contemporary production was in Seville, 1998 (available on DVD).
