Alan Davies is a comedian and actor, born 6 March 1966 in Essex, England.
- He won the Time Out award for Best Young Comic in 1991.
- In 1995 he appeared in the spoof travel show One for the Road.
- In 1997 he played Jonathan Creek, a stage magician with a side interest in solving crimes. This lasted four series finishing with three episodes in 2004.
- He got his own radio show The Alan Davies Show in 1998.
- In 2001 he played Robert Gossage in Bob and Rose, a comedy drama about a gay man falling for a woman.
- In 2006, he was the first ever guest on TV Heaven, Telly Hell.
He is also a renowned Arsenal fan and, regularly berates Manchester United as "Moanchester United" in his weekly Times football column.
