Alan Khan is a top media personality in South Africa. He is currently Deputy MD of East Coast Radio, [link] in Durban, and also presents the weekday morning show called the BIG Breakfast with former beauty queen and TV drama star Sorisha Naidoo. Khan started his career at Capital Radio 604, and has also worked on television, where he covered powerboating on Super Sport in the 90's and then co-hosted am2day, the daily morning national TV show.

He was also on stage during the official Millennium party in Durban[link], and has interviewed several prominent personalities, including Nelson Mandela, Alex Ferguson, Steffi Graf, Janet Jackson, Cliff Richard, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Sepp Blatter and Stevie Wonder amongst others. Alan is happily married to sociologist and gender advocate Dr Mariam Seedat, and has two sons. He loves sport and supports Everton FC [link] in the English Premier Soccer League.

He is also on the global media selection panel that nominates candidates for the annual Laureus World Sports Awards. Alan is one of the few high profile South African men that have come out in support of initiatives to combat the spread of domestic violence, child abuse and rape. He has supported organisations including the Network Against Violence on Women and Children, The Advice Desk for Abused Women and ChildLine. Alan has been a judge for the South African Boeke prize since 2002.
