Alan Whitehead

Alan Patrick Vincent Whitehead (born 15 September 1950, Isleworth) is a politician in the United Kingdom. He has served as Labour Party member of Parliament for Southampton Test since 1997, and had previously been leader of Southampton Council.
Alan Whitehead was re-elected as the MP for Southampton Test in the 2005 General Election. He is strongly in favour of the introduction of an identity card scheme to the United Kingdom. However, he voted against the war in Iraq. Voted with the Government on failed attempt to detain without charge for 90 days.
