Also, Ali Pasha - Commander of Ottoman Turkish naval forces at the Battle of Lepanto (1571). His ship was boarded during the battle, and in spite of there being an order for his live capture, as well as his own pleas, he was beheaded; and his head was then displayed upon a pike. This led to a collapse in Turkish morale, resulting in their rout in the battle.
