Alien Nine

|} Alien Nine (エイリアン9) is a 4-volume manga series (1998-1999) created and illustrated by author Hitoshi Tomizawa, which later became a four episode OVA series from J.C.STAFF and GENCO that aired in Japan in 2001. It has been broadcast in English by the anime television network, Animax across its respective networks around the world, including Southeast Asia, and the Indian Subcontinent. It has also been played on Comcast's Select On Demand service.
Both the manga and the OVA series have a very quirky, bizarre nature to them, bolstered by its subtly unique character cast. While it may seem childish, there are many darker subtexts that unfold.
The anime was licensed and released in North America by Central Park Media in 2003.
Story
Yuri Otani, a rather melancholy 12-year-old, has just arrived in sixth grade and has (begrudgingly) joined the "Alien Party", a team whose primary objective is to capture any otherworldly aliens that may appear on campus. To make matters even worse for Yuri, the only way that capturing the aliens can be made possible is to adjoin with a "Borg", a symbotic lifeform whose sole purpose is to protect their host, incapacitate, and ultimately capture other aliens, using anything available to their arsenal (which includes, but is not limited to: Borgs, inline roller blades, knee pads, and lacrosse sticks.) Thankfully, Yuri is not alone in her tribulations, for she has two other Alien Party member friends - Kasumi and Kumi - who together bring about wild antics the likes of which have never been seen before.External links
