Allianz AG, (NYSE: [AZ]
Core and focus is on the insurance business. With $130 billion of revenue during 2004 Allianz is by far the biggest insurance company in Germany.
History
Allianz AG was founded in Berlin in 1880 and moved its headquarters to Munich in 1949. In 2001, Allianz acquired Dresdner Bank, a large German bank. It operates worldwide under the name Allianz Group. The Allianz became the provider for the Allianz Arena in Munich for 30 years in the 2000s.
