The Alpine World Ski Championships 2007 are to be held in Åre, Sweden, between 3 February and 18 February 2007. The FIS awarded the Alpine World Skiing Championships in 2002. Other candidates were Val d'Isère and Lillehammer. The 1954 World Championships had been held in Åre as well.

Åre Skiresort has 40 lifts (capacity for 47 390 persons/hour) and 102 slopes. Åre normaly has 350 000 visitors/year. Åre has 50 restaurants and 15 bars and nightclubs. Åre is situated in Jämtland, 98 km from the city of Östersund.How to get here
