Aluminate
Encyclopedia : A : AL : ALU : Aluminate
An aluminate is a compound containing aluminium and oxygen with more electropositive elements. Examples include sodium aluminate and potassium aluminate.
Minerals like chrysoberyl are sometimes called aluminates, although they are often classified as mixed oxides. As minerals, aluminates are much less common than aluminosilicates, which occur in bewildering variety.
See for a list of aluminates.
