Alyson Renae "Aly" Michalka, (last name pronounced "Mi-shal-ka") (born March 25, 1989 in Torrance, California), is an American actress and a singer-songwriter. She is perhaps best known for her role on Phil of the Future as Keely Teslow and as one-half of the pop duo Aly & AJ.

Biography

Michalka was born in Torrance, California. She and her sister, Amanda Joy Michalka (who is two years younger), lived and grew up in Seattle, Washington. Michalka has been playing the piano since she was six and started playing the guitar at the age of thirteen. She started acting when she was five years old, mostly in church productions. She and her sister (Amanda "AJ" Michalka) are both part of the duo "Aly and AJ".

Michalka's acting debut came when she landed the role of Keely Teslow in Disney Channel's Phil of the Future. Michalka later starred in the Disney Channel Original Movie, Now You See It..., in which she plays Allyson Miller, an ambitious television producer who is trying to find the next great young magician.

Alyson Michalka, along with her sister Amanda Michalka have both stated their disbelief of the theory of evolution [link].
